Nancy,

I agree with the Judges ruling and have a different take on Cheerleading. I strongly believe that Cheerleaders are amazing athletes and competitive cheer is amazing to watch, however, Cheer is a suporting cast for Sports. In my opinion, no school should be able to consider Cheer as a sport under Title IX as the intent of Cheer is to boost the morale and drive support for a sports team. My daughter is a gymnast and it is a bit frustrating seeing the emphasis on male sports and the casual disregard of female sports.

Keep up the good fight.

My son is a sr. at SWFla Christian in ft. Myers, FL the FHSAA just ruled against him in our elligibility appeal Nov. 22nd 2009. In short--my son wanted to return to the only school he has ever attended (SFCA) for his sr. year-on July 23 we sent 3 letters to FHSAA seeking guidance as Will played on travel team that was coached by former jv coach of SFCA.--knowing we had unique circumstances--(Will grew up at school and church there(Mcgregor Baptist Church is the founder of SFCA-so facilities are shared--youth group started travel team -kids from 5 different schools)state never responed to our letters -we inquired again in oct. and they said he was ineligible--by this time too late to transfer schools and play sports sr. year. we argued that we did not get due process and that the behind the scenes investigation on my son and 2 other boys was tainted because a fhsaa board member is the AD at a competing school in our district and has been involved in getting boys inelegible since June.-HELP / guidance?

Our highschool swim team is having financial troubles due to school ONLY providing funding to football (revenue generating sports) yet requiring us to pay for use of buses rather than follow established policy for use of personal vehicles. I was referred to you for assistance. Can you help?
Thanks.
